One hundred words. How do you tell a whole story in exactly one hundred words? With great skill and clarity.
Microfiction is the form that has taught me most about writing well.
Every word, every comma, every silence counts. I work with so many writers who can create pages of beautiful
work but an editor will chop away over half of it because it doesn’t add anything new or move the story along. That old phrase, ‘kill your darlings’ comes to mind. If you love it, chances are it’s just you that loves it.
